Membership FAQ

Who is eligible to hold a YMCA membership?

Any person who supports the  purpose may become a member of this corporation in accordance with such  provisions as may be established by the board of directors, and shall so  continue to be a member unless the Board or its authorized agent concludes,  in its sole discretion, that a member has failed to live up to the standards  and commitments of being a member of this YMCA.

The YMCA reserves the right to deny membership, guest priviledges, or access of any kind to the YMCA facilities to an individual who commits acts contrary to the mission and values of the organization.  This includes but is not limitted to…

  • Theft of or vandalism of YMCA property
  • Physical Assualt committed on YMCA Property or while involved in a YMCA program or event outside of the Y property.
  • Any individual convicted of a sexual assault, or any individual who appears on the current Sexual Offenders Register.  The YMCA conducts regular sex offender screenings on all members, participants, and guests.
  • Any individual involved in the use of , selling of, or distribution of a banned or illegal substance on YMCA property.

What does a membership include?

3 Gymnasiums,  3 Indoor Running Tracks, Body Master Resistance Equipment, Stairclimbers, Treadmills, Stationary Bikes, Elliptical Trainers,  Free Weights/Hammer Strength Machines, 2 Six-Lane Swimming Pools, 2 Coed  Whirlpools, Adult & Family Locker Rooms, Adult Saunas, 3  Racquetball/Handball Courts, 2 Pool Tables, 2 Table Tennis Tables, 2 Air  Hockey Tables, and 2 Foosball Tables.

What are the benefits of having a membership:?

As a member of  the Auglaize/Mercer Counties YMCA, you can participate in YMCA classes and  activities at a reduced fee. Some activities are even free for our members.  Your membership entitles you access to both our North and our South Branch  YMCA’s. FREE Nursery service while you are working out at the YMCA. What is the Membership Assistance Program?

The YMCA welcomes and embraces people of all abilities, incomes,   ethnicity’s, and religions. It is the policy of this YMCA to provide services   to all who need them regardless of their ability to pay the established fees.   Those individuals or families unable to pay the full fees established by the   YMCA may apply for financial assistance. Financial assistance support will be   based on the individuals ability to pay and on the YMCA’s ability to fund this   service. Click here for the financial assistance application.

What is your membership refund policy?

YMCA  memberships and joining fees are not refundable. Refunds may however be  granted due to verified medical or hardship reasons.

What is your program refund policy?

Program  credits or refunds will be issued in the event that the YMCA cancels or fails  to provide the service or class that the individual has paid for. Those  credits or refunds will be issued on a prorated basis.

What is the YMCA Guest Policy?

The purpose of our guest policy is to permit our YMCA members  to introduce potential members to the benefits of being a YMCA member. Guests  may visit the YMCA as often as they wish.  Any guest 16 or over must present a valid picture id for each visit to the Y.  We do reserve the right to limit  guests to prevent overcrowding the facility.  Members are permitted to bring a limit of 3 guests per visit.
